FAQs

Below are some of our most Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: My child is interested in taking dance lessons.  Does s/he need to have any previous experience?

A: No.  However, if s/he does have previous experience, that's great and we would like to know (for placement)!

Q; Do I need to sign a contract to take classes?

A: No.  Billing is handled on a month-to-month basis and payable to the City of Sacramento.

Q: What should my child wear to class?

A: Hip-Hop: comfortable clothes, sneakers

Ballet: must wear ballet shoes and proper ballet attire

Jazz: comfortable clothes, jazz shoes (no jeans, please)

     Tap: must wear tap shoes

Tumbling: comfortable clothes (no jeans, please)

Q: Why are some kids in so many more events/performances than mine?

A: Please trust our recommendation for both the classes in which your child belongs and the performance in which they appear.  All children perform at different levels, and we take into account technical ability as well as how quickly they can learn choreography.  Still, no regular student will miss an opportunity to perform at an event.

Q: What if my child wants to join the Hip-Hop Crew?

A: There are no auditions for the Sac ShowBiz Hip-Hop Crew.  Members are selected by the instructor directly from our upper-level classes.
